In short
Monsoon is a very strong and heavy built vessel. She is in good condition, in 2007 she got an entire new deck On the botttom of the page survey you find the ultrasound results proving the good condition of the hull. You will not find a lot of rust in the bilges.

The hull is constructed of mild steel plate nominally 1/4" thick, and of all welded connections. Transverse frames are 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 1/4" angle bar fully formed at 4 ft. centres. Longitudinal frames are 1-1/2"x1/4"tee bar, generally at 16 inch centres. Keel sides are 5/16" steel plate, deck is 3/16"steel plate and the deckhouse is 1/4" plate aluminum alloy with suitable stiffening.

Generally, the whole structural scantlings are in accordance with Lloyds rules for steel yachts and a september 2002 ultra sound check up showed a good condition of the steel, after various replacements of hull plating.

The 10 tons of new lead ballast and the waste tanks are in the keel. The decks are constructed as follows: 7/16 " teak decks over 2 layers 1/2 " plywood over 3/16"steel plate. Inbetween these layers a total of 4 x 450 grs fibreglass mat in epoxy

All around the hull the stainless steel rub rails put an extra accent on the lines of the vessel. Bullworks are 1 ft high above deck and have a teak cap rail.
